Everyone has heard the saying - Shit Happens.
Working on projects that have defined timelines and pressures that come and go, you get to learn to roll with the punches. Since the Lockdown’s the sense of freedoms have been amazing. Meeting people face to face, and being able to talk with them and smile. That joy has been amazing.
With Cyclone Alfred tearing its way through Queensland, some regions have been reminded what it is like to be alive. Devistation, isolation and watching everything they hold dear being washed away. For a lot of people it is not the first time, with flooding in 2018 being a recent event and they are rebuilding after that to watch it wash away again.
It does bring communities together. That shared experience, and that shared struggle pushes people together. Prolonged periods without power has given time to reflect on my current slate of projects, and given me a chance to weigh up what is really important in life. The experience, the struggle, it all goes into making up some amazing stories.
